ORDER

This writ petition has been filed for direction to the first respondent to release the Ashok Leyland Multi Axul Lorry bearing 1/4

registration No.TN-33-BJ-7789 seized by the second respondent on 01.03.2022 2.

The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents submitted that the second respondent had not seized the petitioner's lorry. The lorry was seized by the Flying Squad concerned on 01.03.2022 during vehicle check up and the vehicle was found in possession of rice. The driver of the vehicle had no valid records or permit to transport the rice in the vehicle. It was later found that the rice was intended to a fair price shop. Thereafter, FIR was registered on the file of the second respondent under Tamilnadu Essential Commodities Act. Now enquiry is under progress. Therefore, after completion of enquiry, final order will be passed.

In view of the above, the first respondent is directed to pass final order on the seizure of the petitioner's Ashok Leyland Multi Axul Lorry bearing registration No.TN-33-BJ-7789 within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order. 2/4

With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
