Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the 2nd Respondent to provide commercial electricity connection to the Petitioner's shop at No.155/52-B, K.P.Koil Street, Saidapet, Chennai 600 015 pursuant to the Petitioner's Application dated 15.06.2019 within the stipulated period. Petitioner has come up with this Writ Petition seeking a direction to the 2nd Respondent to provide commercial electricity connection to his shop at No.155/52-B, K.P.Koil Street, Saidapet, Chennai 600 015, pursuant to his Application dated 15.06.2019.

According to the Petitioner, he is running an Iron Scrap shop in the name and style of SR Traders at No.155/52-B, K.P.Koil Street, Saidapet, Chennai, in the premises of the 3rd and 4th Respondents herein, since 2012. On 22.03.2012, an oral Lease Agreement was entered into between him and the 3rd and 4th Respondents by paying Rs.2,00,000/- to the said Respondents. As the portion in which he is in possession does not contain electricity connection, the Petitioner made an Application to the 2nd Respondent herein on 15.06.2019 for providing commercial electricity meter to his Shop. As his Application has not been considered till date, the Petitioner has come up with the present Writ Petition.

Heard the learned counsel on either side and perused the material documents available on record.

Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and without going into the merits of the case, this Court directs the 2nd Respondent herein to consider the Petitioner's representation dated 15.06.2019 on merits and in accordance with law after giving an opportunity of hearing to the parties concerned, and pass appropriate orders within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, if the said Application has not been considered already.
