The petitioner has filed this writ petition seeking a direction to the official respondents to provide free agricultural electricity service connection to her Well under the Thakkal (Self Financing) Scheme.
2. The case of the petitioner is that she is the owner of agricultural land measuring an extent of 2.04 acres in S.F. No.4/2A2 situated at Kurumbalamahadevi Village, Paramathi Velur Taluk, Namakkal District, and she is also having a share in Well situated in S.F. No.4/2A3. The petitioner applied for free agricultural electricity service connection for a 7.5 H.P. pump set under the Thakkal Scheme on 19.07.2023 by paying the entire amount of Rs.2,75,000/- along with registration charges. Though the application was sanctioned on 20.10.2023, the service connection has not been effected till date, on the ground of objections raised by private parties.
3. It is further stated that the petitioner has complied with all the requirements under the Thakkal Scheme and paid the entire amount. Hence, it is the duty cast upon the respondent Electricity Board to effect service connection within the stipulated time and the non-provision of the same is unjustified. In such circumstances, this writ petition has been filed with the aforesaid prayer.
4. Learned counsel for the petitioner that it would suffice, if this Court issues a direction to the official respondents to consider the claim of the petitioner, by considering the petitioner's representation dated 20.05.2024, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

Learned counsel appearing for the official respondents submitted that due to objections raised by the private respondents with regard to erection of electricity poles nearer the said Well, the service connection could not be effected. However, he has no objection for issuance of suitable directions by this Court in the above regard, if the petitioner paid the amount prescribed under the Thakkal Scheme.
6. In view of the above, this Court directs the official respondents to effect free agricultural electricity service connection to the petitioner under the Thakkal Scheme, if the petitioner has paid the entire amount and complied with all requirements, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
7. With the aforesaid directions, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
