ORDER
The writ petition has been filed to direct the first respondent to take further action on the petitioner's mercy petition dated 02.11.2024. The case of the petitioner is that, disciplinary proceedings was initiated against the petitioner and in pursuance thereof, he was imposed with punishment of withholding of increment for a period of two years with cumulative effect vide order dated 16.06.2023. Against which, the petitioner preferred an appeal and the appeal was dismissed on 25.09.2023. Aggrieved by the order of the appellate Authority, the petitioner has given a mercy petitioner to the first respondent dated 02.11.2024. 3.
At this juncture, when this Court put a pertinent question to the learned Counsel whether any provision is available under the Service Rules for giving such mercy petition, the learned Counsel would fairly submit that there is no such provision under the Service Rules.

In such view of the matter, this Court do not find any merits in the Writ Petition and stands dismissed. However, the petitioner is given liberty to approach the Appellate Authority before the appropriate forum in the manner known to law. No costs.
