5.The District Forest Officer Respondents PRAYER : Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to conduct a fair investigation into the illegal cutting and removal of sandalwood, teakwood trees from the Government Polytechnic College campus at Palacode, Dharmapuri District, by securing and examining CCTV footage and other records to identify and prosecute the persons responsible including erring officials, to initiate appropriate departmental/disciplinary proceedings against those found negligent and to take immediate effective measures to protect and safeguard the remaining trees and natural resources, by disposing of the petitioner's representation dated 29.8.2025.

ORDER
