Petition praying that in the circumstances stated therein and in the Memorandum of Grounds in CRL A.NOS.277 to 280 of 2018 on the file of the High Court, the High Court will be pleased to suspend the sentence of imprisonment passed by the Learned Principal District Sessions Judge, Thiruvallur in S.C.No.235, 236, 238 AND 239 of 2011 against the petition on 27.03.2018 and enlarge him on bail pending disposal of the above CRL A.NOS.277 to 280 of 2018. [ IN CRL.MP.Nos.6650 to 6653 of 2018 Order : This petition coming on for orders upon perusing the petition and the Memorandum of Grounds in CRL A.NOS.277 to 280 of 2018 on the file of the High Court and upon hearing the arguments of M/S.K.RAMANAMOORTHY, Advocate for the petitioner [ IN ALL THE PETITIONS ] and of MR.T.SHANMUGA RAJESWARAN, GOVERNMENT ADVOCATE [CRL.
SIDE] on behalf of the Respondent [ IN ALL THE PETITIONS ] the court made the following order:- The petitioner was convicted by the Trial Court for the offence under Section 136 of Electricity Act and sentenced to undergo one year rigorous imprisonment and to pay a fine of Rs.1,000/- in default to undergo three months rigorous imprisonment. Challenging the said order of conviction and sentence, pending revisions, the petitioner has filed the present petitions.
2. Considering the fact that there are arguable points in the revisions and taking into consideration, the facts and circumstances of the cases and taking note of the fact that the petitioner has paid the fine amount imposed by the Trial Court, this Court is inclined to suspend the sentence imposed on the petitioner/accused.
3. Accordingly, sentence of imprisonment alone is suspended and the petitioner shall be released on bail on his executing a bond for
a sum of Rs.10,000/- with two sureties each for a likesum to the satisfaction of the trial Court on a further condition that the petitioner shall report before the trial Court on the first working day of every month at 10.30 a.m., pending disposal of the revisions. -sd/- 26/04/2018 This order, on being produced, be punctually observed and carried into execution by all concerned TRUE COPY Sub-Assistant Registrar (Statistics/C.S.)
