ORDER
This writ petition has been filed challenging the selection list dated 24.01.2024 as per the notification to the post of Assistants in Cooperative institutions dated 09.11.2023.
2. Heard the learned counsel on either side and perused the materials available on record.
3. All the petitioners had applied for the post of Assistant in Cooperative institutions as per the notification dated 09.11.2023. As per the notification, the eligibility criteria is that the co-operative training is mandatory for recruitment to the post of Assistants. However, the petitioners were not selected and other candidates who were selected in which some of the candidates were not undergone for co-operative training which is mandatory for recruitment to the post of Assistant as per the notification.
4. On instructions, the respondents submitted that the notification dated 09.11.2023 was issued for direct recruitment to the post of Assistant/Clerk. The eligibility criteria for the post of Assistant is any degree and either diploma completed or diploma studying students can apply for the said post. The petitioners had applied for the said post. The first petitioner had secured 78.20 marks in the written examination which is 88th position as per the communal rank and over all 417th rank out of 1199. As far as the second petitioner is concerned, she had secured 73.95 marks and also her overall rank is 519 out of 1199. Insofar as the third petitioner is concerned, she had secured 90.10 marks and her overall rank is 185 out of 1199. Therefore, they were not coming under the zone of consideration and as such, they were not selected for the said post.
5. Having been failed in the selection process, now the petitioners had challenged the selection list on flimsy ground that the candidates must have completed co-operative training. It does not say so as per the notification and as such, the grounds raised by the petitioners cannot be countenanced.
6. In view of the above, the writ petition is devoid of merits and is liable to be dismissed. Accordingly, this writ petition stands dismissed. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous petition is closed. No costs. 01.08.2024 (1⁄2) Internet: Yes Index : Yes/No Speaking/Non Speaking order mn
