ORDER

This Criminal Original petition has been filed to grant permission and police protection for the temple festival proposed to be held on 05.08.2019, based on the representation of the petitioner dated 29.04.2019.

2. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor on instructions submitted that there are rival parties, who also want to conduct the temple festival and therefore, the entire matter has been referred to the District Superintendent of Police, Gingee, who is now the Chairman of the Peace Committee Meeting.

3. In view of the above, the direction as sought for by the petitioner cannot be granted by this Court and the respondent police shall take a decision based on the final settlement that is arrived at by the parties before the peace committee.
