ORDER
This Writ Petition has been filed to direct the second respondent to return the sale deed document presented for registration and kept pending vide Receipt No.3023/2026 and pending Document No.P/Valikandapuram/641/2026, dated
19.05.2026 within a time frame.
2. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner has purchased the property comprised in Survey No.370/1 from one Bahadur Ali, S/o. Batchamiyan and his co-sharers who were in possession and enjoyment of the property. A dispute arose in respect of mutation of patta relating to the said survey field which had been made in favour of third parties including Tmt.Selvaambal. The said mutation was challenged by the vendors of the petitioner by filing appeal before the Revenue Divisional Officer, Perambalur. After a detailed enquiry, the said mutation was set aside since there were no valid parent title document in favour of the rival claimants in respect of Survey Nos.370/1 and 370/4A. Therefore, only after verification, the petitioner has purchased the said property for valuable consideration and presented the sale deed for registration before the second respondent on 19.05.2026. The second respondent has neither registered the document nor returned the same till date. Therefore, the petitioner has filed this Writ Petition.

M.Roshan Atiq, learned Government's Counsel accepts notice on behalf of the respondents and submitted that the petitioner's request will be considered and the sale deed presented for registration and kept pending vide Receipt No.3023/2026 and pending Document No.P/Valikandapuram/641/2026, dated 19.05.2026 will be returned within a period of one week.
4. Heard the learned counsel on either side and perused the materials available on record.

Considering the limited relief sought by the learned counsel for the petitioner, this Court without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, directs the second respondent to return the sale deed presented for registration and kept pending vide Receipt No.3023/2026 and pending Document No.P/Valikandapuram/641/2026, dated 19.05.2026 to the petitioner, within a period of one week from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
6. With the above direction, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
