ORDER

[Made by P.N.PRAKASH, J.] This habeas corpus petition has been filed seeking to direct the respondents to produce the petitioner's wife Sasikala, aged about 53 years, before this Court and set her at liberty.

It is the case of the petitioner that his wife Sasikala, aged about 53 years, went missing from 22.09.2021 and that the police are not taking effective steps to secure her. 3.

Today R.Saikumari (Mobile No.94981 28549), Women Head Constable 28090, T-6, Avadi Police Station (L & O), Avadi, Chennai - 54, is present.

On instructions, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that on a complaint given by the petitioner, a case in Avadi Police Station Crime No.1906 of 2021 was registered on 26.09.2021 for 'woman missing' and investigation is in progress.

In such view of the matter, this habeas corpus petition stands closed with a direction to the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Avadi, to supervise the investigation in Avadi Police Station Crime No.1906 of 2021 and keep the petitioner informed of the developments, if any. As and when detenue Sasikala, aged about 53 years, is secured, she shall be produced before the Judicial Magistrate Court No.II, Poonamallee, under intimation to the petitioner. On such production, the learned Magistrate shall pass appropriate orders with regard to custody in accordance with law.
