ORDER
By consent of learned counsel on both sides, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself. In view of the 1/5
order that this Court proposes to pass and also the limited relief that is sought to be granted, notice to 2nd respondent is dispensed with. 2.The present writ petition is filed praying for a writ of mandamus to dispose the appeal/representation dated 07.03.2025 pending on the file of the 1st respondent within a time frame to be fixed by this Court. 3.It is submitted by the learned counsel for petitioners that the land comprised in S.No.568/8, measuring an extent of 0.35.50 hectare (0.87 1⁄2 acre) situated at Soonampet Village, Cheyyur Taluk, Chengalpet District, was originally owned by the petitioner's father viz., Balaraman. After the demise of said Balaraman, petitioner's family has been in possession of the above mentioned property.
However, the patta in respect of subject property was transferred/mutated in the name of one Alamelu on 21.02.2025, who is no way connected to the subject property. Aggrieved by the above mutation, petitioner preferred an appeal/representation dated 07.03.2025 to the 1st respondent seeking mutation of revenue records. However, the said appeal/representation has not been considered by the 1st respondent till date. Aggrieved by the same, the present writ petition has been filed.

4.At the outset, learned Additional Government Pleader for respondents would submit that they would consider and dispose of the appeal/representation dated 07.03.2025 in accordance with law, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.
5.In view thereof, the writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the 1st respondent to dispose of the appeal/representation filed by the petitioner dated 07.03.2025, after affording reasonable opportunity of hearing to the petitioner, 2nd respondent and any other interested parties/rival claimants, if any, within a period of 12 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any views with regard to the merits of the appeal and it is open to the concerned respondent to consider the same on its own merits and in accordance with law.
