Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the 4th respondent to carry out the mistake name of petitioner's grandfather death certificate namely R.Palanisamy instead R.Palaniappa Gounder and dispose the representation given by the petitioner on 26.06.2024.

Mr.U.Baranidharan, learned Additional Government Pleader accepts notice for R1 to R6 and Mr.M.Shajahan, learned Special Government Pleader accepts notice for R7. Both learned counsel are armed with necessary instructions to enable a final disposal of this Writ Petition, even at the stage of admission.

2. The petitioner seeks a mandamus directing the 4th respondent, being Revenue Tahsildar, Modakkurichi Taluk, Erode District to carry out a change in name of the petitioner's grandfather to R.Palanisamy from R.Palaniappa Pg.No.2/4

Gounder in the death certificate. He has made a representation on 26.06.2024 seeking the same relief.

3. Mr.Baranidharan has written instructions dated 24.07.2021 from the Village Administrative Officer, Kulavilakku -A Village, Modakkurichi Taluk, Erode District/R6, wherein it is stated that an objection has been received from Mr.Arulraj, brother of the petitioner to the change of name.

4. If at all there was any objection, the same will be put to the petitioner, seek his response and dispose representation dated 26.06.2024 in a timely fashion, after hearing the petitioner, the objector and any other interested parties to the lis.

5. Hence, mandamus is issued to R4 to hear the petitioner, the objector and any others who may be interested in the matter and dispose representation dated 26.06.2024, within a period of six (6) weeks from date of receipt of a copy of this order, in accordance with law and all extant Rules and regulations.
