For Petitioners : Mr.M.Velmurugan For Respondents : Mr.S.Santhosh, Government Advocate (Crl.Side) for R1 C O M M O N O R D E R This Writ Petition is filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus, calling for the records relating to the impugned communication passed by the first respondent in Petition Nos.6009/2024/REGN/CL and 6038/2024/REGN/CL dated 24.05.2024 and to quash the same as illegal and subsequently to direct the first respondent to hold necessary enquiry as contemplated under Section 17A of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 and depending upon the outcome of the said enquiry to take further action in accordance with law.

The petitioners had given representations on 15.05.2024 and 16.05.2024 respectively to the first respondent, in which, allegations were raised against the officials of Veppur Sub-Registrar Office who had fraudulently registered the documents in favour of the third party. Hence, the petitioners seek 2/6

necessary action against the erred officials and conduct inspection. 3.Heard the learned counsel for the petitioners and the learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) for the first respondent. 4.The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) appearing for the first respondent submitted that the representation of the petitioners dated 15.05.2024 and 16.05.2024 were received by the Directorate and they have been processed as per the guidelines issued in G.O.Ms.No.173, P & AR (N) Department dated 19.12.2018 and provision of DVAC Manual in para - 10(3). Since the Inspector General of Registration is the Competent Authority to scrutinize the relevant documents and to take appropriate action on the representations of the petitioners, it was forwarded to the Inspector General of Registration, No.100, Santhome High Road, Foreshore Estate, Chennai - 28, for taking necessary action.

5. In view of the submissions made by the learned Government 3/6

Advocate (Crl.Side), this Court, without going into the merits of these cases, directs the Inspector General of Registration, No.100, Santhome High Road, Foreshore Estate, Chennai - 28, to consider the representations of the petitioners dated 15.05.2024 and 16.05.2024 and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. With the above direction, these Writ Petitions are disposed of. No costs.
