Respondents Prayer: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying to issue a WRIT OF HABEAS CORPUS calling for the records of the 2nd respondent herein on the basis of petitioner's complaint dated 22.06.2016 given in person and by post and to direct the respondents herein to produce the petitioner's son namely, P.Karunakaran, Male, aged 19 years, son of V.Pichandi before this Court and set him at liberty. ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by V.BHARATHIDASAN, J.) The petitioner is the father of one Karunakaran, aged about 19 years. His son Karunakaran has been beaten by some identifiable persons and as a result, he was admitted in Kancheepuram Government Hospital. Subsequently, he was discharged on 30.04.2016. Thereafter, from 30.04.2016 onwards, he was found missing. Hence, the petitioner made a complaint to the 2nd respondent and a case has also been registered for 'man missing'. Since no action has been taken to trace the detenue, the petitioner has come up with this Habeas Corpus Petition. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

2. Today when the matter was taken up, there was no representation for the petitioner.

3. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor on instructions would submit that already they are investigating the case, however, the petitioner is not co-operating with the investigation. He would further submit that even the photographs of the detenu has not been given.

4. In the circumstances, the 2nd respondent is directed to continue the investigation and take steps to secure the detenue.

5. With this observation, the Habeas Corpus Petition is dismissed.
