(Order of the Court was made by M.JAICHANDREN, J.) This Habeas Corpus Petition has been filed to issue a Writ of Habeas Corpus directing the respondents to rescue the petitioner's daughter Senthuradevi, aged about 20 years, and produce her before this Court and set her at liberty. 2.
It has been stated that the detenue Senthuradevi is the daughter of the petitioner and she was missing from 6.1.2016. Petitioner pleads that one Govindaraj had abducted the detenue, and he is keeping her in illegal custody. 3.
Today, when the matter is listed for hearing Mr.N.Sreenivasalu, learned Counsel has produced the detenue Senthuradevi before this Court. On enquiry the detenue has stated that she has been living with her cousin sister Radha, at 8th Street, Balu Nagar, Pudur, Chennai, and that, she is not willing to go with the petitioner, who is her mother. The detenue has further stated that she has not been abducted by anyone, and that she is not in illegal custody. As the detenue is a major, we are of the view that it is open to the detenue to go anywhere, as per her wish. In such circumstances, this Habeas Corpus Petition is closed making it clear that the detenue is at liberty to go and live along with her cousin sister Radha, as per her wish. -s/d- Assistant Registrar True Copy Sub-Assistant Registrar vr To 1.
