ORDER

By consent of learned counsel on both sides, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself. 2.The present writ petition is filed praying for a writ of mandamus to direct the 2nd respondent to re-determine the compensation awarded to petitioner's lands acquired at Karasur Revenue Village in Award No.2/2008, at Rs.21,261/- per Are, based on the application under Section 28A of the Land Acquisition Act 1894 dated 22.03.2019 and the representation dated 03.06.2024.

3.At the outset, learned Additional Government Pleader for the respondents 1 to 3 would submit that petitioner's request has been processed and enhancement of compensation would be disbursed shortly and learned Additional Government Pleader would rely upon a letter dated 26.06.2025 addressed to the Government Pleader, Puducherry. The relevant portion of the letter dated 26.06.2025 is extracted hereunder:

I am directed to inform that the writ petitions filed vide W.P.Nos.22921, 22922, 22923 and 22925 of 2025 in the High Court of Judicature at Madras for the enhanced compensation u/s 28A of Land Acquisition Act related to the land acquisition for the purpose of "SPECIAL ECONOMIC ZONE" in Karasur Revenue Village, Villanur Taluk, Puducherry are admissible. The following petitioners who have filed writ petitions have already submitted representations for enhanced compensation under section 28A of Land Acquisition Act, 1894 to our office and they are eligible for the disbursement of enhanced compensation under section 28A of the Land Acquisition Act, 1894:

1.Karasur Selva Vinayagar Aalayam - W.P.No.22921 of 2025 2.Thiru D.Jeeva - W.P.No.22922 of 2025 3.Kadaperikuppam Varadharaja Permual Koil - W.P.No.22923 of 2025.

In this regard, this office has already initiated the necessary action for the sanction and disbursement of the enhanced compensation u/s 28A of Land Acquisition Act, 1894. However, the process is presently delayed due to the non-receipt of requisite funds from the requisition department (PIPDIC, Puducherry). This is for your kind information. 4.In view thereof, nothing survives for adjudication in this writ petition.

5.Recording the same, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondents to disburse the enhanced compensation to the petitioner as expeditiously as possible. No Costs. 26.06.2025 Index : Yes/ No Speaking (or) Non Speaking Order pam 4/6
