Writ petition filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India for issuance of a WRIT OF MANDAMUS to direction the respondents consider the petitioner's representation dated 19.05.2026 in accordance with law and release the petitioner's husband Madesh S/o.Ramar, aged 56 years, convict Prisoner,
PID No.33857, now confined in Central Prison, Salem, under the premature release scheme in G.O.Ms.No.488.

Mr. C.R. Malarvannan Counsel For Government Of Tamil Nadu (Criminal Side) Order (Order of the Court was made by Dr.Anita Sumanth J.) Mr.C.R.Malarvannan, learned counsel for Government of Tamil Nadu (Criminal Side) accepts notice for the respondents and is armed with necessary instructions to enable a final disposal of this matter. Hence, by consent of both sides, final order is passed in this Writ Petition, even at the stage of admission.
2. It is the petitioner's case that her husband has completed more than 16 years of life sentence and is eligible for early release as per G.O.(Ms.)No.488, Home (Prison-IV) Department, dated 15.11.2021. She has made a representation dated 19.05.2026 seeking early release and the same is yet to be considered.
3. Learned counsel for the respondents accedes to the receipt of the representation and assures the Court that the same will be disposed in accordance with the applicable provisions, expeditiously.
4. We hence direct R1 to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 19.05.2026 and pass orders in accordance with the extant Regulations,
within a period of four (4) weeks from today and communicate the same to the convict and his family.
5. This Writ Petition is disposed as above.
