Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to grant patta in the petitioner name to the properties situated in S.No.520, extent, 0.46.0 acres i.e., 1.14 acres, Village Promboke land, Karnampattu Village, Katpadi Taluk, For Petitioner : Mr.A.Gouthaman For Respondents : Mr.A.Selvendran Special Government Pleader

O R D E R

The petitioner herein seeks a direction to the respondents to grant patta in respect of the properties situated in S.No.520, extent 1.14 acres, Village Promboke Karnampattu Village, Katpadi Taluk, Vellore District.

2. The petitioner submitted a representation to the respondents on 25.06.2018 requesting to issue patta in respect of the above mentioned 2/5

property by stating his long possession. The said representation has not been considered by the respondents. Therefore, the petitioner has filed the present Writ Petition.

3. The learned Special Government Pleader taking notice for the respondents submitted that S.No.520 in respect of which the petitioner requests for grant of patta is classified as anadheenam land in 'A' Register and hence, his request for grant patta cannot be granted.

4. In view of the limited prayer sought by the petitioner seeking consideration of his representation for granting of patta, this Court without going into the merits of the case, directs the first respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner.

5. In view of the fact that the representation of the petitioner is of the year 2018, the petitioner is directed to give fresh representation to the first respondent within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order. Thereafter, the first respondent is directed to dispose of the same on merits within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of the 3/5

representation.

6. With the above directions, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
