ORDER

The instant writ petition has been filed with a prayer for issuing a Mandamus, to direct the respondent to settle a sum of Rs.66,471/- towards 6% interest for the belated settlement of Leave Salary benefits, by considering the 1/4

representation of the petitioner dated 06.05.2025.

2. The case of the petitioner is that the petitioner has joined in the respondent Corporation on 27.02.1986 and had retired from his service on 31.12.2022. However, the terminal benefits have been settled to him only on 08.04.2025 and no interest has been paid to them for the delayed period. In view of the same, the petitioner has submitted a representation dated 06.05.2025 to the respondent to pay interest for the delayed period. Since the same was not considered by the respondent, the present writ petition has been filed by the petitioner.

3. At this juncture, the learned Standing Counsel appearing on behalf of the respondent would fairly submit that they would consider the said representation of the petitioner dated 06.05.2025 and pass order within a reasonable time.

4. Heard the learned counsel on either sides and perused the materials available on record.

In view of the said fair submission made by the learned Standing Counsel for the respondent, without going in to the merits of this Writ Petition, this Court deems it appropriate to direct the respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 06.05.2025 and pass orders according to its own merits and in accordance with law, within a period of six (6) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. With the above observations, the Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
