Respondents - - - - - This Application has been filed, under under Order XIV Rule 8 of the Original Side Rules, r/w. Section 29 - A (4) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, seeking for extension of mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal by an another period of six months.

2. Admittedly, Arbitration is in progress in respect of the dispute between the petitioner and respondents. Trial has commenced in the arbitration. Since one year period, as stipulated, under the provisions of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act has already come to an end, it became necessary for the applicant to file this application. Infact, the applicant had earlier sought for extension, under Section 29 A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, which was also granted by this Court. https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis 1/2

3. Mr.Niranjan Rajagopalan, the learned counsel who appeared through Video Conferencing on behalf of the respondents has not raised any serious objection for allowing this application.

4. This Court is also satisfied with the reasons assigned in the affidavit seeking for extension of time to pass arbitral award.

5. For the foregoing reasons, this application is allowed, as prayed for, by granting six months time for the arbitral tribunal to pass the arbitral award, pertaining to the dispute between the petitioner and the respondents.
