Respondents Prayer: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking a writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to remove the encroachments in the lake situated in Survey No.123 in Seranur Village, Gingee Taluk, Villupuram District on the basis of the petitioner's representation dated 05.06.2023.

ORDER

(Made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) We have heard Mr.M.Gnanasekar, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.P.Muthukumar, learned State Government Pleader, assisted by Mr.K.M.D.Muhilan, learned Additional Government Pleader for the respondents.

2. Learned Government Pleader submits that order under Section 6 of the Land Encroachment Act was passed against the encroacher, against which, an appeal under Section 10 of the Act has been filed by the encroacher. Depending upon the outcome of the said appeal, further action would be undertaken.

3. In view of the above statement, the writ petition is disposed of. There will be no order as to costs.
