O R D E R

[Order of this Court was made by R.SUBBIAH, J] The present Contempt Petition has been filed alleging non-compliance of the order passed by this Court on 21.01.2019 in H.C.P.No.2993 of 2018, where under this Court directed release of the detenu viz., V.Iyyappan (Convict No.291 housed in Central Prison I, Puzhal, Chennai - 600066) S/o.K.C.Velayutham, aged about 61 years, forthwith in terms of G.O.(Ms) No.64, Home (Prison-IV) Department dated 01.02.2018.

2. Heard learned counsel for petitioner and learned Public Prosecutor appearing for respondents.

3. Learned Public Prosecutor appearing for respondents submits that against the order, which is in contempt, a Special Leave Petition has been filed before the Honourable Supreme Court and obtained an order of interim stay. Learned Public Prosecutor has also produced a copy of the 2/3

order of the Honourable Supreme Court for perusal of this Court.

Taking into account that the order, which is in contempt, has been stayed by the Honourable Supreme Court, this Court closes the present Contempt Petition.
