Respondents Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Declaration, declaring that Rule 5, more particularly Rule 5(a), read with Proviso to the Rule 5 of the Bar Council of India Rules of Legal Education, includes any degree awarded by a University established by a State Legislature, under 10 (SSLC) + Diploma + Degree pattern, as eligible to apply for admission to a 3 years' Degree Program in Law and that Clause III (b) (2) and (5) of the Prospectus/ Information and Instruction to the candidates issued along with Admission Notification dated 08.09.2021 by the second respondent for admission to 3 years' degree program in law for the year 2021-2022 as illegal and consequently direct the respondents 2 and 3 to permit the petitioner to make application for admission to 3 years' Law Degree Program and to participate in the selection process including counselling and certificate verification and to give admission to 3 years' Degree Course/Program to the petitioner, based on the merit and ranking under SC quota.

[ORDER OF THE COURT WAS MADE BY S.M.SUBRAMANIAM, J.] Mr.S.R.Raghunathan, learned counsel appearing on behalf of the Bar Council of India, would submit that the Bar Council of India passed Resolution resolving that three year Diploma/Polytechnic Course entertained by the Institution recognised by the Government shall be considered on par with +2 Certificate Course for the purpose of admission to the five year integrated LL.B Degree Course.

2. In view of the said Resolution, the petitioner is also eligible to secure admission to five year integrated LL.B Degree Course, if she is otherwise eligible.

3. With the above clarifications, the present writ petition stands disposed of. However, there shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
