ORDER
By consent of learned counsel on both sides, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself. 2.The present writ petition is filed to direct the respondent to dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 03.06.2025 to register the Settlement Deed without insisting the original Sale Deed dated 14.10.1965, registered as Document No.4052/1965. 3.It is submitted by the learned counsel for the petitioner that the property comprised in S.No.120/3, measuring an extent of 222 cents is situated at Panang Kottur Village was purchased by petitioner's father vide Sale Deed from S.Gnanambal, L.Balasubramaniam and N.Vijayakumar, registered as Document No.4052/1965 before the Sub Registrar Office, Chengalpattu. After the demise of petitioner's father, petitioner has been in continuous possession of the subject property and he executed a Settlement Deed in favour of his wife and the same was 2/6
refused by the respondent, when it was presented for registration. 4.It is submitted by the learned counsel for the petitioner that pursuant to the above refusal, the petitioner submitted a representation dated 03.06.2025 to the respondent seeking registration of Settlement Deed. However, the said representation has not been considered by the respondent till date. Aggrieved by the same, the petitioner has come before this Court.
5.On this being pointed out, learned Special Government Pleader would submit that he has instructions to state that the Settlement Deed was not even presented for registration. However, if the petitioner presents the Settlement Deed, the same would be registered if it is otherwise in order. If for any reason, there is a need for refusal of registration of the Settlement Deed, they would do so after assigning reason, which was agreed to by the learned counsel for the petitioner. 6.Recording the same, the Writ Petition stands disposed of. made clear that this Court has not expressed any views with regard to the merits of the case and it is open to the concerned respondent to consider the matter on its own merits and in accordance with law. No costs. 27.06.2025 Index : Yes/ No Speaking (or) Non Speaking Order pam 4/6
