This writ petition has been filed seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus directing second respondent to deal with the representation made by the petitioner on 28.06.2021 wherein petitioner has sought for correction of the survey number mentioned in the revenue records as 237/34 instead of 237/27 & 237/26.
2. By consent of learned counsel on both sides, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

The case of the petitioner is that during the year 2008, Government provided free house site patta vide Patta No.309 to petitioner's wife in respect of the land comprised in Survey No.237/34 situated at Nathampatti Village, Kanchipuram District. Petitioner's wife executed a settlement deed dated 23.10.2017 in his favour. It is stated that when the petitioner verified FMB, he found that there are some errors in the survey number. Though there is no dispute with regard to the extent, the petitioner's
grievance is that, house comprised in Survey Nos.237/27 & 237/26, but patta was granted to petitioner in respect of Survey No.237/34. Hence, representation was made to respondents on 28.06.2021 followed by several representations dated 18.07.2023 and 30.07.2024 to carry out necessary corrections in FMB. Since the same was not considered, the present writ petition has been filed.

At the outset, it was submitted by learned Additional Government Pleader for respondents that the representation dated 30.07.2024 made by petitioner would be considered and appropriate orders would be passed within a time frame to be fixed by this Court, which was agreed to by learned counsel for petitioner.
5. Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case and considering the fact that there is stated to be mistake in the survey number, which is sought to be corrected, there shall be a direction to the concerned respondent, to consider the representation dated 30.07.2024 on
its own merits and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law within a period of sixteen weeks from the date of uploading of the web copy without waiting for the receipt of certified copy, after affording reasonable opportunity of hearing to petitioner and any other interested persons, if any. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any view with regard to the merits of the case and it is open to the concerned respondent to consider the representation on its own merits and in accordance with law.
