Respondents Prayer: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents 1 to 3 to ensure that the construction of compound wall of the Government High School, Sathampadi comprised of S.F.No.141/17 admeasuring 2.00.0 hectares without leaving a single piece of the said land so as to use by the private land owners.

ORDER
(Order of the Court was made by The Hon'ble Chief Justice) The grievance of the petitioner is that despite the land allotted to the Government High School, Sathampadi at SF
No.141/17 measuring about 2 hectare, a compound wall is being constructed over a lesser area so as to make room for private persons to occupy the space beyond the compound wall to the detriment and prejudice of the school.
2. If, indeed, a compound wall is being put up, it should run along the extremities of the land and should not be constructed by leaving a part of the land allotted or earmarked for the school beyond the area covered by the compound wall.
3. Mr.P.Muthukumar, learned State Government Pleader, takes notice on behalf of the respondent Nos.1 to 3.
4. The District Educational Officer, Udayarpalayam in Ariyalur District should visit the school along with revenue officials adept at obtaining land measurements. If the District Educational Officer finds that the compound wall or boundary wall is being constructed by leaving parts of the land allotted to the school beyond such boundary or compound wall, he will ensure that immediate corrective measures are taken so that the entirety of the land is within the boundary or compound wall and no part of it is left out for possible private use, even by those connected with the school.
5. The third respondent will forward a compliance report to both the second respondent Chief Educational Officer of the district and the first respondent District Collector. A copy of such report should also be forwarded to the petitioner at the address of the petitioner indicated in the cause-title herein. WP No.22581 of 2021 is disposed of. There will be no order as to costs.
