ORDER

The petitioners, who were arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 07.06.2025, for the offences punishable under Sections 420 and 506(I) IPC in connection with Crime No.27 of 2025, registered on the file of the respondent, seek bail.

2.The case of the prosecution as per the defacto complainant viz., Deventhiran, is that the petitioners had indulged in job racketing and cheated the defacto complainant to the tune of Rs.6,00,000/- on the false assurance of arranging job as Office Assistant in Tamil Nadu Rural Development Department. Hence, the complaint.

3. The contention of the learned counsel for petitioner is that the 1 st petitioner is the husband and the 2 nd petitioner is the wife. It is purely a money transaction which has been projected as though it is a case of job racketing. In this case, the defacto complainant had not stated what happened to the cheque, whether the cheque was presented, dishonoured and whether any action has been taken. Hence, civil dispute has been given as criminal colour.

4.The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) appearing for the respondent police submitted that the petitioners had not only cheated the defacto complainant Deventhiran but he had also cheated yet another person namely Gunasekaran from whom he had collected Rs.9,00,000/- and another Rs.6,20,000/- from one Kumar and also other persons on the promise that he would get appointment in the BDO office as Assistant. The petitioners cheated several persons in job racketing case and the call details and the bank details of the petitioners are all being collected. He further submitted that the investigation is in crucial stage. Hence, strongly opposed for granting bail to the petitioners.

5. In view of the same, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioners. Hence, the Criminal Original Petition stands dismissed. 19-06-2025 gbi Index:Yes/No Speaking/Non-speaking order Internet:Yes
