ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to direct the respondent not to harass the petitioner under guise of enquiry.

2. The case of the prosecution is that the petitioner is the owner of Black Pearl Snooker (Indoor Games) Facility, situated at Sundaram Pillai Street, Tondiarpet, Chennai. While so, on 21.09.2025, the respondent Police, acting on secret information, conducted a raid at the said premises. During the raid, 40 grams of ganja, 3 bottles of brandy, and 32 packets of cigarettes were allegedly seized from the premises belonging to the petitioner. The petitioner was unable to offer any satisfactory explanation regarding the possession of the said contraband articles. Consequently, the contraband articles were seized by the respondent Police.

3. When the matter is taken up for hearing, the learned counsel for Government of Tamilnadu (Criminal Side) reports that the petitioner is arrayed as an accused in Crime No.587 of 2025 and the investigation is pending before the 2nd respondent - Police.

4. Under such circumstances, once the regular FIR has been registered, the question of "Not to harass" will not arise. Any direction issued by this Court at this stage will amount to interfering with the investigation to be conducted by

the respondent police.
