This Writ Petition has been filed seeking to direct the 1st respondent to disburse the amount payable towards the encashment of Earned Leave along with interest to the petitioners.

2.The petitioners had retired from service from the respondent Corporation on 30.04.2017, 30.06.2016 & 30.06.2019 respectively. From the retirement benefits, Earned leave encashment benefits of Rs.35,497, Rs.63,373 & Rs.63,224/- respectively are yet to be paid to the petitioners. The said entitlements were furnished to the petitioner vide letters dated 16.01.2023 in response to the information sought under the Right to Information Act. Hence, the petitioners submitted representations which are pending without consideration till date. Hence, these writ petitions.

3. In view of the admitted fact that the petitioners are eligible for the amounts, which have not been paid till date, the petitioners would be entitled for interest on the outstanding amounts.

4. In the light of the above observations, the first respondent is directed to pay the petitioners a sum of Rs.35,497, Rs.63,373 & Rs.63,224/- respectively towards Earned Leave arrears together with interest at the rate of 4% from the 2/5

date on which he would be eligible for such payment, till the date of actual disbursement, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above direction, this writ petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
