The Writ Petition has been filed in the nature of a Mandamus particularly against the first respondent, Regional Officer, CBSE School at Chennai, to carry out corrections in the 10th mark sheet and 12th List of Candidates with respect to the name of the son of the petitioner from Ram Adithya Tharani Muthukumarasamy to Ram Adithya Muthukumarasamy. The petitioner in effect wants name Tharani to be deleted.
The son of the petitioner had applied for passport and in the passport, the name given is Ram Adithya Muthukumarasamy. He had applied for Adhaar and in the Adhaar, his name is Ram Adithya Muthukumarasamy, son of Muthukumarasamy. In effect as on date, he is called only as Ram Adithya Muthukumarasamy. Unfortunately, the original name was Ram Adithya Tharani Muthukumarasamy. The 10th mark sheet had been issued in that particular name. 3.
The petitioner now seeks correction of that particular name in the 10th mark sheet of his son. A representation had been given in this regard to the first respondent.

Since, the necessary procedures had been followed for correction of the name, a direction is issued to the first respondent to correct the name of the son of the petitioner in the 10th mark sheet in Roll No. 20171559 from Ram Adithya Tharani Muthukumarasamy to Ram Adithya Muthukumarasamy.

This particular representation for change in the name had been given to the second respondent / the Principal, Suguna PIP School, Kalapatti Road, Coimbatore, where the son of the petitioner had studied and is now studying in 12th standard. 6.
The learned counsel Mr. A.S.Baalaji, appearing for the second respondent stated that the second respondent had forwarded the said representation to the first respondent. The first respondent may therefore correct the name in the 10th mark sheet of the son of the petitioner herein. If time is still available for changing the name in the List of Candidates Register for 12th standard examination, it may also be so changed. If the time has already expired, the first respondent may issue the 12th standard mark sheet in the name Ram Adithya Tharani Muthukumarasamy and thereafter, a fresh representation may be given to change the name in the 12th standard mark sheet to Ram Adithya Muthukumarasamy and without waiting for any further orders, the first respondent may issue a fresh 12th
C.V.KARTHIKEYAN, J., vsg standard mark sheet in the name of to Ram Adithya Muthukumarasamy. The original 10th mark sheet with the name Ram Adithya Tharani Muthukumarasamy must be surrendered to the first respondent through the second respondent school. 7.
With the above observation, the Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
