The petitioners herein who have received summons from the 2nd respondent to appear before him on 05.07.2024 in connection with a complaint given against him by one Ajith is before this Court alleging that the respondent police is forcibly trying to settle the money dispute between him and the said Ajith under the guise of enquiring the complaint.

The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondent police states that on allegation of online cheating been brought to the notice of the 2nd respondent by one Ajith and therefore, to make a preliminary enquiry on the said information, the petitioners were summoned. They have not appeared in response to the said summon dated 01.07.2024. They have not been harassed to settle the dispute as alleged in this petition.

On considering the submissions, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of directing the petitioners herein to appear before the 2nd respondent on 30.07.2024 and produce the documents and 2/4
information in connection with the complaint against him. The 2nd respondent police shall enquire the matter and shall not proceed if the issue is purely civil in nature.
