ORDER
The revision challenges the dismissal of the petitioner's application filed under Section 167(2) Cr.P.C., seeking to enlarge the petitioner on statutory bail. 2.There was no representation for the petitioner on 19.09.2025. There was also no representation on 02.01.2026. Though there was representation for the petitioner on 05.01.2026, on which date the present learned counsel submitted that he had filed a change of vakalat and sought time. Today also there is no representation for the petitioner.
3. It is seen from the impugned order that the petitioner was arrested on 05.12.2023 and has been accused of the offences under Section 8(c) read with Sections 20(b)(ii)(c), 25 and 29(1) of the NDPS Act. The petitioner sought bail on the ground that the charge sheet was not filed within the statutory period of 180 days. However, the learned Judge found that the charge sheet was filed on 22.05.2024, within the statutory period of 180 days, and hence held that the petitioner is not entitled to statutory bail.
4. Hence, this Court finds no infirmity in the order dated 03.07.2024 passed by the learned Principal Special Court under the EC and NDPS Act, Chennai, in Crl.M.P.No.6013 of 2024.
5. Accordingly, the Criminal Revision Case stands dismissed. 10-02-2026 Index: Yes/No Speaking/Non-speaking order skr To
