This writ petition has been filed for a direction to the respondent to survey and issue patta in respect of the properties in Survey No.173/10 to the total extent of 3 cents of land, which is situated at Kannivakkam Village, Chengalpattu District, based on the representation of the petitioner dated 24.05.2024.
2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondent and perused the entire materials available on record.
3. It is the case of the petitioner that originally his father owned the property in S. No.173/10 to an extent of 3 cents of land at Kannivakkam Village, Chengalpattu District. On 10.07.2011 petitioner's father executed a settlement deed in favour of the petitioner and the petitioner has been in possession and enjoyment of the property without any hindrance and he has constructed a small house and also obtained electricity connection. Hence the petitioner gave a representation on 24.05.2024 to the respondent to survey and issue patta in respect of the land which is in his possession. Page 2/4

Considering the limited relief sought for in this writ petition, the respondent is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 24.05.2024 and pass appropriate orders on the petitioner's application for survey and issuance of separate patta for the land situated in S. No.173/10 to an extent of 3 cents of land at Kannivakkam Village, Chengalpattu District, on merits and in accordance with law, after giving notice to the neighbouring land owners and any other interested persons. Such exercise shall be completed within a period of two months from the date of receipt of copy of this order.
