Respondent PRAYER: Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of Writ of Mandamus directing the respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 06.11.2017 and pass orders within the time to be stipulated by this Court for issuance of patta in favour of the petitioners in respect of land measuring an extent of acre 1.20 cents in punjai Survey No.421, covered by Old patta No.914 situated at Ayyarnapalli Village, Soolagiri Taluk, Krishnagiri District.

Mr.S.Soundararajan, learned Government Advocate takes notice for the respondent. By consent of the parties, the main writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

2. Heard both sides.

3. The petitioners seek for a Mandamus directing the respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

06.11.2017 and pass orders within the time to be stipulated by this Court for issuance of patta in favour of the petitioners in respect of land measuring an extent of acre 1.20 cents in punjai Survey No.421, covered by Old patta No.914 situated at Ayyarnapalli Village, Soolagiri Taluk, Krishnagiri District.

4. The grievance of the petitioners is that the said request has not been considered so far. At this stage, this Court is not expressing any view on the merits of the claim made by the petitioners as it is for the respondent to consider and decide the same on merits and in accordance with law. Accordingly, this writ petition is disposed of by directing the respondent to consider the representation of the petitioners dated 06.11.2017 and pass orders on the same on merits and in accordance with law, after hearing the rival claimants, if any. Such exercise shall be done by the respondent within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
