PETITION under Article 226 of The Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to transfer the property tax assessment in New Bill No.01095 for the property situated at No.93C/37, T.S.Gopal Nagar, Thiruvottiyur, Chennai-19 in favour of the petitioner. None appears for the petitioner. Mr.P.V.Selvakumar, learned Standing Counsel accepts notice for respondents 1 and 2.
2. The petitioner seeks a direction to the second respondent to consider his representation and effect name transfer in the property tax assessment in respect of the property at No.93C/37, T.S.Gopal Nagar, Thiruvottiyur, Chennai-19.
3. In the affidavit in support of the writ petition, the petitioner admitted that the patta in respect of the property, the property tax assessment and the water and sewerage tax assessment stand in the name of the petitioner's brother one Mr.Stanley. The petitioner claims that his brother executed a settlement deed in his favour dated 3.2.2016 and it was registered as doc.No.659 of 2016 on the file of the SubRegistrar, Thiruvottiyur. Stating these facts, the petitioner sent a representation dated 20.5.2016 to the second respondent. Since it did not evoke any response, the petitioner is before this Court.
