Prayer: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying to issue a WRIT OF HABEAS CORPUS to call for the records in connection with the order of Detention passed by the second respondent in Memo No.BCDFGISSSV No.747/2016 dated 20.07.2016 against the petitioner son Ranganathan, Male aged 28 years S/o. Arumugam who is confined at Central Prison, Puzhal II, Chennai and set aside the same and direct the respondents to produce the detenu before this court and set him at liberty.

[Order of the Court was made by S.NAGAMUTHU, J.] Challenge is made to the order of detention passed by the second respondent vide Proceedings BCDFGISSSV No.747/2016 dated 20.07.2016, whereby the detenu, namely Ranganathan, S/o.Arumugam, aged about 28 years, was ordered to be detained under GOONDA as contemplated Section 2(f) of the Tamil Nadu Act 14 of 1982.

2.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor would submit that the order of detention passed by the second respondent as against the mother of the petitioner dated 20.07.2016 has been revoked by the Government in G.O. Rt. No.4167 HOME, PROHIBITION & EXCISE (X) DEPARTMENT, dated 01.09.2016 and he has also produced a copy of the said order.
