PRAYER: The writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a writ of Mandamus, directing the first respondent to dispose the application dated 16.08.2022 pending on the file of the 1st respondent within the time stipulated.

By consent, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage.

2.The petitioner society was originally registered with the 3rd respondent, within the jurisdiction of Chennai South Registration office and thereafter it was moved to the jurisdiction of the 4th respondent. However, the Government has come out with Gazette Publication dated 19.07.2017 that the petitioner society along with few other societies have been removed from the Registrar of Societies.

3.Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the Government appears to 2/6

have obtained the report from the Registrar of Societies, Chennai South, whereas, it ought to have obtained necessary report from the Registrar of Societies of Chennai Central. The petitioner society has not become defunct nor is in default in complying with the provisions of the Societies of Registration Act and this would be known if a report is obtained from the Registrar of Societies, Chennai Central.

4.The petitioner, therefore has appealed to the Government, the 1st respondent herein to obtain necessary report from the 4th respondent and to make necessary correction to the Gazette Publication dated 19.07.2017. 5.Mrs.N.Senthil Selvi, the learned Government Advocate has taken notice for the respondents 1 to 4.

6.This Court considers that whatever representation / appeal which the petitioner has made to the Government is not properly or appropriately worded for easy comprehension. This Court, therefore, directs the petitioner to provide a fresh representation with greater clarity to the 1st respondent 3/6

within fifteen (15) days from today. The 1st respondent is also required to collect necessary report from the Registrar of Societies, Chennai Central and dispose of such representation of the petitioner within the next twelve (12) weeks from today.

7.This writ petition stands disposed of accordingly.
