O R D E R

The petitioner herein earlier filed W.P.No.28955 of 2023 seeking police protection in connection with administration of the Mosque in which he claim to be a Muthawali.

2. This Court after considering the undertaking given by the Government Advocate on behalf of the respondent police disposed of the writ petition on 11.10.2023 recording the undertaking of the respondent police that if any representation given in connection with Law & Order problem appropriate action will be taken against the violators.

3. The petitioner is before this Court by filing the contempt petition stating that on 04.07.2024 a private respondent forcibly locked the Mosque and administrative office and manhandled the petitioner and his supporters. This matter was reported through registered post to the Inspector of Police as well as the Superintendent of Police, which they received on 06.07.2024. But, till date they have not registered a 2/4

complaint and acted upon. Hence, they have willfully disobeyed the orders of this Court dated 11.10.2023 and therefore, committed contempt.

4. The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents submitted that the complaint sent by registered post dated 04.07.2024 was received by the office on 06.07.2024. Meanwhile there was another complaint given by the petitioner on 08.07.2024, which has been registered for investigation in CSR.No.1116 of 2024 and enquiry is taken up. The complaint sent through the registered post will also be taken up for enquiry and appropriate action will be taken.

5. Recording the statement of the learned Government Advocate, this contempt petition is closed with a direction to the respondents 2 and 3 to act upon the written complaint of the petitioner herein dated 04.07.2024 sent by registered post and act in accordance with law.
