Mr.V.Kadhirvelu, learned Special Government Pleader takes notice on behalf of the sole respondent.
2. The grievance of the petitioner in this case is that he is working continuously as Sports Officer for three years under the respondent and relevant Chennai Corporation General Service Rules amended in recent past, mandates for regularisation of his services and as such he has made a representation to the respondent dates back on 24.01.2018 to regularise his service but no decision has yet been taken by the respondent on the same. Hence, he has filed the writ petition seeking writ of mandamus directing the respondent to consider his representation in accordance with law especially taking note of the aforesaid service Rules.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits considering the nature of relief sought for, his prayer may be allowed without seeking the reply affidavit.
4. The learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondent submits that the respondent have no objection for consideration of his such representation within the time to be stipulated by this Court but no fetter be put on the respondent to dispose of the representation in any particular manner.
5. Considering the facts and submissions made by the learned counsel appearing for the parties and nature of relief sought for, this Court disposes of this writ petition without seeking reply affidavit of the respondent, with the direction to the respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner made taking note of the service Rules, if any in this regard, by which the petitioner is stated to be governed and pass a speaking order on the same, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this Order and communicate such decision to the petitioner forthwith. However, it is made clear that this Court has expressed no opinion on merit of such representation in any manner. No costs.
