Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus calling for the records with respect to the Notification dated 08.12.2020 published by the second and third respondents and quash the same, consequently direct the respondents to issue fresh Notification by increasing the branches and number of seats in LLM and giving 75% seats in LLM for students who studied LLB from Government Law Colleges.

O R D E R

The petitioners have filed this writ petition seeking issuance of Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus calling for the records with respect to the Notification dated 08.12.2020 published by the respondents 2 and 3 and to quash the same, consequently direct the respondents to issue fresh Notification by increasing the branches and number of seats in LLM and giving 75% seats in LLM for students who studied LLB from Government Law Colleges.

2.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioners submitted that the Government Colleges award 30 marks for practicals and Private Colleges award 40 marks for practicals and hence the students who study in Government Colleges are not able to secure marks on par with the students who study in private Colleges. The learned counsel further submitted that the impugned Notification dated 08.12.2020 was implemented much earlier and the grievance of the petitioners are in subsistence. Hence, nothing survives for adjudication in this writ petition and this Court may close this writ petition by granting liberty to the petitioners to file fresh writ petition seeking appropriate relief.

3.In view of the above, this writ petition is closed with liberty to the petitioners to file fresh writ petition seeking appropriate relief. No costs. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petitions are closed.
