ORDER
This writ petition has been filed for the issue of writ of Mandamus directing the respondents 1 and 2 to consider the representation made by the petitioner on 26.04.2025 and to restore the electricity connection for the ground floor of the property.

When the matter was taken up for hearing today, the learned Standing counsel appearing on behalf of the respondents submitted that the service connection stood in the name of Lakshmi Thangammal. On the request made by that person, the service connection itself was discontinued effective on 21.02.2025 and therefore, the learned Standing counsel submitted that the petitioner has to make a fresh application seeking for service connection and the same will be considered by the 2nd respondent. 3.
Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case and the submissions made by the learned Standing Counsel, there shall be direction to the petitioner to submit a fresh application to the 2nd respondent seeking for electricity service connection and the same shall be considered by the 2nd respondent, on its own merits and in accordance with law and the decision shall be taken within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of fresh on-line application from the petitioner. If any clarification is required, the petitioner shall be called for an enquiry to give the clarification.

This writ petition is disposed of with the above directions. No costs. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
