The present Writ Petition has been filed for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus to direct the first respondent to decide the petition filed under Section 23(1) of the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007, in accordance with law.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner filed a petition on 08.09.2020 under Section 23

(1) of the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007, to cancel the Settlement Deed dated 14.03.2013 in Document No.3178/2013. He further submits that eventhough the first respondent has received the petition, the same is yet to be disposed of by him. Hence, the petitioner is before this Court.

3. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and learned Additional Government Pleader appearing https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

for the first respondent.

4. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and the submissions made on either side, this Court, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the representation, directs the first respondent/the Revenue Divisional Officer, Tiruvallur, to consider the petitioner's representation dated 08.09.2020 and pass appropriate orders, on merits and in accordance with law, after issuing notice to the petitioner and the second respondent and also affording them an opportunity of personal hearing, within a period of four (4) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
