Petition praying that in the circumstances stated therein and in the affidavit filed therewith the High Court will be pleased to permit the petitioner leave to continue the appeal in Crl.Appeal no.334 of 2016 on the file of Hon'ble High Court of Madras and thus render justice.

Order : This petition coming on for orders upon perusing the petition and the filed in support thereof and upon hearing the arguments of M/S.V.RAJAMOHAN, Advocate for the Petitioner and of MR. C.E.PRATAP, Govt. Advocate ( Crl. Side) on behalf of the Respondent the court made the following order:- (The case has been heard through video conference) The appellant was convicted for the offences punishable under Sections 13(1)(d) r/w 13(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 and sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for one year and pay a fine of Rs.1,000/- in default to under rigorous imprisonment for two months.

2. Challenging the conviction and sentence, the appellant has filed the appeal and pending appeal he died on 21.08.2020. Now the wife of the appellant has filed this petition seeking to continue the appeal.

3. I am satisfied with the reasons stated in the affidavit filed in support of this petition and the petition is allowed as prayed for.
