The Writ Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents to provide police protection on the basis of the petitioner's representation dated 08.06.2024.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing for the respondents.

3. The contention of the learned counsel for the petitioner is that the petitioner was running an online business in the name and style of Nilaapay Business Service Private Limited. Due to certain financial constraints, he was unable to settle his customers. Consequently, based on the complaints given by a few customers, a case was registered and the petitioner was arrested and later released on bail by this Court. Thereafter, he satisfied the customers by executing a notarized guarantee bond. However, some rowdy elements are now threatening the petitioner to settle the amount to them. Therefore, the petitioner sent a representation to the respondents seeking police protection. Since no action was taken by the respondents, the present petition has been filed.

4. In view of the above, this Court directs the petitioner to lodge a complaint before the respondents whenever there is any specific threat made by the rowdy elements. On receipt of such complaint, the respondents Police shall conduct an enquiry to ascertain whether any cognizable offence 2/4

is made out, and thereafter act strictly in accordance with law.

5. Accordingly, this Writ Petition stands disposed of with the aforesaid direction. No costs.
