By consent, the main writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself. 2.The prayer in the writ petition is to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the second respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 27.09.2017 and also the reminder dated 02.05.2019 to run a petty shop by the side of the platform in between the Collector's Office and Customs Office. 3.Heard Ms.R.Gandhimathi, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.K.Ravikumar, learned Additional Government Pleader, who takes notice for respondents 1,3 and 4 and Mrs.Karthika Ashok, learned Standing counsel, who takes notice for the second respondent.
4.Perusal of the affidavit indicates that the petitioner has made the representation to the Authorities to permit him to run the petty shop by the side of the platform in between the Collectors office and the Customs Office. Such request cannot be acceded by the respondents and the Court cannot issue the Mandamus to consider such representation. If any street vendor intends to establish a petty shop, he has to make a proper representation to the Street Vending Committee, which will identify the suitable location and allot the shop as per the merit and seniority. The specific request of the petitioner to establish the shop particularly in the platform near the Collector Office and the Customs Office per se cannot be entertained.
5.Accordingly, this writ petition is dismissed. No costs.
