(By J.Nisha Banu,J.) This Writ Petition has been filed for a direction to the respondent to consider and dispose of the appeal dated 28.09.2024 filed by the petitioner in the light of the hearing conducted on 19.12.2024.
2. Mr.M.Rajendran, learned Additional Government Pleader 1/4
takes notice for the respondent. By consent, the Writ Petition itself is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage.
3. When the matter is taken up for hearing, it is represented by the learned counsel for the petitioner that against the motion for disqualification of the petitioner from the post of President of Thodukadu Village Panchayat, he has preferred an appeal before the respondent and the same may be directed to be disposed of in a time bound manner.
4. Learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondent stated that a reasonable time may be granted to the respondent for disposal of the appeal filed by the petitioner.
5. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and taking note of the fact that the statutory appeal preferred by the petitioner is pending with the respondent, this Court, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, directs the respondent to dispose of the appeal dated 28.09.2024 of the petitioner, by giving an opportunity of personal 2/4
hearing to the petitioner and other parties concerned in accordance with law. Such an exercise shall be carried out within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
6. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
