ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to quash the FIR in Crime No.6 of 2021, dated 31.05.2021 on the file of the first 1st respondent Police.

2. The case of the prosecution is that the petitioner/A1, who is the husband of the defacto complainant/3rd respondent tried to marry another lady.

Hence, the 3rd respondent/defacto complainant lodged a complaint. On receipt of the same, a case in Crime No.1 of 2021 was registered by the 2nd respondent, on 06.01.2021, for the offence under section 4 of the Tamilnadu Prohibition of Harassment of Women Act, 2002. Thereafter, on 04.05.2021, the said complaint was transferred to https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

the first respondent for want of jurisdiction and a fresh case in Crime No.6 of 2021 has been registered on 31.05.2021 by the first respondent. Now, the case is still at the stage of investigation.

3. Today, when the matter is taken up, the petitioner/husband, and the 3rd respondent/defacto complainant/wife present before this Court along with their daughter.

4. It is reported that by passage of time, the parties have decided to bury their hatchet and compromised the dispute amicably among themselves and the defacto complainant is not inclined to proceed with the investigation further and both of them of living happily along with their daughter.

5. This Court also enquired both the parties and satisfied that the parties have come to an amicable settlement between themselves and living happily.

6. In view of the above, this Criminal Original Petition stands allowed and as a sequel, the investigation in Crime No.6 of 2021, on the file of the 1st respondent police, is quashed. Sd/- Assistant Registrar //True Copy// Sub Assistant Registrar mrp To
