ORDER
This writ petition has been filed for the issuance of a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus to call for the records
pertaining to the impugned proceedings in reference Ka.No.SAPO/VNI/VM/Va.A/Ko.V.V/A.No.78-A/2020-21 dated 21.10.2020 on the file of the 4th respondent and quash the same as illegal and without jurisdiction and direct the respondents to provide Electricity Service Connection to the petitioner's agricultural land in Survey No.21/7A, Kayathur Village, Vikravandi Taluk, within a time frame
2. The case of the petitioner is that he is the owner of the land in Survey No.21-7A, Kayathur Village, Vikravandi Taluk. In the year 1988 he made a request to the respondents for free electricity connection for the agriculture land by application dated 23.05.1988. However, no action has been taken by the respondents for the past 32 years, hence he approached this Court for a Mandamus.
3. Mr.M.Varun Kumar, learned Standing Counsel for TNEB submitted that since the petitioner's application is of the year 1988, the fourth respondent is searching for the application and is yet to process the application.
4. Since the learned Standing Counsel expressed the difficulty of the Board in searching the petitioner's application dated 23.05.1988, the petitioner shall furnish another application along with the proof that he had already submitted an application dated 23.05.1988 to the fourth respondent within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. On receipt of such application, the respondent Board shall consider the same and pass suitable orders on merits within a period of four weeks therefrom.
5. With the above direction, this writ petition stands disposed of and the impugned order passed by the fourth respondent dated 21.10.2020 in Ka.No.SAPO/VNI/VM/Va.A/Ko.V.V/A.No.78-A/2020-21 is quashed. No costs.
