O R D E R

This criminal original petition has been filed to direct the respondent to expedite the investigation in Crime No.499 of 2011 on the file of the respondent and file final report .

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the State.

3. Today, Mr.A.Devanesan, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Central Crime Branch, Chennai, Mr.B.Kasi Viswanathan, Inspector of Police, Central Crime Branch , Team-12, Chennai and Mr.C.Vincent, Sub-Inspector of Police, Central Crime Branch, Chennai are present.

4. By order dated 25.10.2016, this Court had directed the Investigating Officer to file the status report. Accordingly, the Investigating Officer has filed the status report, in which, https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

he has clearly stated the various steps he has taken to consolidate the cases and investigate them from different angles. In the status report also, he discloses several startling facts, which cannot be revealed now as it will hamper the investigation.

5. Therefore, this Court perused the status report and returned the same to the Investigating Officer to keep in the case diary as it contains several details which are likely to alert the accused involved in this case. This Court is satisfied with the manner, the Investigating Officer is investigating the case. Taking into consideration, the nature of the allegations of the persons involved in the offences, this Court cannot issue any direction to the respondent police to complete the investigation in a time bound manner.

6. In the result, this petition is closed with a direction to the respondent police to thoroughly conduct the investigation, and if the allegations are found to be false, the closure report shall be filed under due intimation to the defacto complainant.
