ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by S. NAGAMUTHU,J.,) The petitioner is the father of one Mr.P.Muralidaran, aged 19 years. On 13.06.2016, along with his friends, Mr.P.Muralidharan, went to silver beach in Devanampattinam, on a tour. In the sea, it is alleged that Mr.P.Muralidharan and his friends took bath. Unfortunately, in a high tide and waves, they were dragged deep into the sea water. Fortunately, the others https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

escaped but not Mr.P.Muralidharan. In respect of the said occurrence, a case has also been registered in Crime No.89/2016 on the file of the Devampattinam Police Station and the same is under investigation. In those circumstances, the petitioner has come up with this Habeas Corpus Petition.

2.In a status report filed by the first respondent, the above facts have been narrated and it has also been stated that steps are being taken to trace out the detenu. 3.In view of the above position, we find that the relief sought for by the petitioner cannot be granted since, there is no illegal detention. However, direction is issued to the respondent to continue the investigation expeditiously. 4.With the above direction, the Habeas Corpus Petition is dismissed.
